Career Highlights
Jacob has assisted clients with various import compliance matters, such as HTS classification, forced labor, tariff diversion, and the application of duties to non-privileged foreign status and privileged foreign status goods admitted into an FTZ. He has also assisted clients with various export issues, including compliance with Automated Export System (AES) filing requirements under the U.S. Census Bureau's Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), regulatory compliance with the Toxic Substances Control Act, and compliance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for drugs unapproved in a foreign country.

Prior to joining Schulz Trade Law, Jacob served as an attorney with Miller & Company P.C., a boutique FTZ firm located in Kansas City, Missouri. While attending the University of Kansas School of Law, he interned with the U.S. Army JAG Corps, where he provided legal representation to high-ranking military officials on issues of national security and government affairs.

Jacob recognizes the growing need to develop knowledgeable and amenable attorneys in the field of international trade. As such, he has served as a guest lecturer for Raj Bhala’s International Trade law and International Law and Literature courses at the University of Kansas School of Law, lecturing on subjects such as export subsidies, national security, HTS classification, various publications by Franz Kafka, and William Shakespeare’s Second Henriad.
